Suddenly I’m like dang! I forgot what I’m suppose to put on it to help with it. A few hours went by and the only thing I could think of was tomato but I knew that wasn’t it. Finally, after going on with my day without really thinking about it, I remembered. Toothpaste!

I ran into the bathroom took a tiny bit of toothpaste (the burn is small) and rubbed it over the skin that was burned. The pain was gone in an instant. It really does work. I looked it up via google to see what others said or thought. There were split opinions mostly from people who have never tried it but I have and I can tell you from experience that no it does not help it to heal faster, nor does it help with scarring but it definitely helps with the paid and prevents it from becoming a boil.

So tooth pastes is definitely a go for burns in my book but I only recommend it for minor burns and before they get to the boil stage so that means apply immediately.

And that is my two cents.

I want to make the Dean’s list this semester and I don’t want to devote a lot of unnecessary time to the task of studying. When I say unnecessary time I don’t mean that I don’t want to study; I just mean I would like to study as efficiently as possible, you know; make it stick.

First tip: Don’t under estimate the power of your brain. I got this tip from my Idiot’s Guide to Speed Reading book and I discovered that they’re right. Just because you think you’re not absorbing the material doesn’t mean you aren’t. Glance through as often as possible. You’ll be surprised at what your brain picks up.

Second tip: No one really reads before class. . .not really. So do what I call Cheat Reading. What’s cheat reading? Cheat reading is when you go through the entire chapter and read only bold/italicized print as well as side page content, graphs, and most importantly the first sentence in each paragraph. As a matter of fact you should do this first.

Third tip: I know you’ve probably heard this before but transferring new materials from the short term memory to the long term memory is much easier to do sooner than later. After the lecture is over read over the material within 5 mins. It’s like going through the lecture all over again. The instructors voice will play in your head like a recorder as you read over everything they just said. It works!

Fourth tip: Write. Write. Write. Write. Rewrite you lecture notes if you take notes. The next day preferably. I don’t take many notes myself but I rewrite what I do take, about a page handwritten double spaced. Make note cards. This counts as writing too and you can take them everywhere you go. You can even hole punch them and put them on a binder ring.

Fifth tip: You like watching videos don’t you? Why not watch one of yourself. That’s right. Watch a video of you giving the camera a lecture. Explaining (in your own words) your interpretation of the material. Then after you’re done watch it. Then watch it again and again and again if you like. This works very well for me because I love to look at myself and listen to myself talk.

Sixth tip: If the course text offers online study quizzes do those. They help you practice, they give hints, they encourage concentration and has a little bit of side info. You can even email them to yourself to study later. Be sure to have your book handy when doing so. It works better that way.

These are my best study tips. There are more I’m sure but these are what works best for me. They’re not in any kind of order. You can try some or you can not. You can do them in any order or combination you like. Let me know how it works out

It’s so beautiful. I sent the picture to my fiance and he likes the colors a lot. Turquoise is a very easy color to find and typically matches across the board so I might be going with that as the primary color, shades of purple as the secondary color and silver or champagne as my third color.

I know that I’m going to have a difficult time finding a bouquet but I’m already looking into silk flowers to handle that problem. Although I did see some that I likes. . .I was also looking into the purple orchids and blue orchids (silk).

All of these companies just don’t realize the immense talent they are missing out on by not hiring me. I have so much enthusiasm, creativity, and ideas that I need to get out.

You know those products that you invest in and you’re not really sure how well they will do because no one has really tried them, but then you are the first to take a chance not knowing what the outcome will be. Then all of a sudden you start seeing these huge billion dollar annual returns that are absolutely wonderful compared to the minimal investment you’ve made. THAT’S ME!!!! Hello. I’m right here.

I am a prize waiting to be won. I have a strong entrepreneurial drive. I’m creative, task oriented. . .I love to read. Loving to read seems like a pointless attribute to have but you’d be surprised at the things you can learn, the things you can avoid, and the incredible amount of time you can save by just reading. And I love to read everything. There is no rhyme or reason to my reading.

So hire me. I know it’s an investment especially in this economy but I guarantee it’s one you won’t regret.

Even so I got in a nice little workout. Saw my BComm professor from last semester. It was nice to see a familiar face; haven’t been seeing very many of those lately. Oh and my workout got interrupted by burned popcorn. Yeah…fire alarm, standing in the cold and rain for like ten mins. You’d think that would be enough to ruin my day but nope. . .I was feeling great from my workout.

I successfully completely my in depth interview for my marketing research class. Yay me!!! I must say I’m off to a wonderful start this semester. And I absolutely love my retailing instructor. She has so much energy and she’s getting everyone involved and interested in class. Yes! I count as everyone.

Last weekend I accomplished very little so now I have to make up for it this weekend. So that means gotta go. I know writing in my blog more often is on my list of goals; however, putting first things first is among a few unsaid goals that I also have so it’s difficult to blog when I haven’t even done much studying.

I’ve decided to make a list of goals that I “would like” to accomplish for the year of 2010. That way since they’re just goals I would like to accomplish there is no pressure. If there is no pressure, then you won’t be so hard on yourself and you’re less likely to give up completely.

And I’ve also decided that I can add to this list as I go and I can also increase,decrease or make modifications to my goal as necessary; however I cannot remove it from the list. It’s important that I set S.M.A.R.T. goals.
Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Track-able

So here’s my list so far:

• Get married on May 21st in Jamaica
• Read 7 books, outside of class, for the year (currently developing a list; let me know of any suggestions)
• Make the deans list
• Drop (at least) one dress size by May
• Blog (at least) once a week
• Open my store on E-bay and here in my blog
• Obtain an internship; preferably paid

That is all I really have for now. Though I am definitely positive that this list will increase. I’ll be sure to report my progress weekly to let everyone know how I’m doing.
